Research into UK School Attitudes towards Farm Visits

The Farmers Weekly have had a report on 'UK Schools Attitudes Towards Farm Visits' prepared by England Marketing. The Farmers Weekly launched the Kids Connect Campaign to support the Year of Food and Farming and to encourage farmers to host and conduct school visits to their farms. This Report shows the findings of research carried out across the UK's primary schools to determine teachers attitudes towards farm visits. It reveals some interesting statistics about, for example, the importance of easy travelling distance to schools and the extent of knowledge across schools about farm visits.

Characters

To encourage children to get excited about food, farming and the countryside, while teaching them how to eat healthily and enjoy countryside leisure activities, marketing material has been designed to engage children's attention.  With over 15 fun, food and farming-inspired characters; 'Spud and the gang' can be used in order to excite children's interest - one suggestion is to put the characters on stickers with the children's name before they go on a farm or food producer visit.

To download Spud and the farm bunch characters, please click on the images below. If you need high resolution versions of the characters or logos please contact us.
