Following the consultation event in March 2006, SW CoRE and the South West UK Brussels Office compiled a response which was submitted to Defra on behalf of the South West region.

SW CoRE Consultation Event - 8th March 2006

In March 2006 SW CoRE organised a consultation event to respond to Defra's Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE), prior to submitting a response on behalf of the South West region. The outcome of Defra's consultation will help to set a clear national policy but there will be flexibility in the programme's design and delivery to respond to regional and local needs and priorities.

The South West's Emerging Regional Implementation Plan (RIP) - 19th September 2006

A second RDPE event was held on 19th September 2006, organised by SW CoRE and South West RDA. Entitled 'The South West's Emerging Regional Implementation Plan (RIP)' the main aim of the event was to discuss the emerging / draft SW RIP and start thinking about the implementation of the plan.

The regional priorities have been developed internally by this statutory group and will go out to consultation in June/early July. The RIP is due for completion by Autumn 2006.
